Track Concessions

FYI- I need to know which track meet you can work at. I guess my plan is this- to schedule Track members on either boys or JrHi meets.

Would you rather "sign-up" for the days that work best for you, or should I go ahead and make-up a schedule and then have you work out trades with each other and let me know?

BTW- Coach Pippitt knows you need to do this and she's flexible. Also, remember, you can "hire" NHS members or parents to cover for you if you absolutely need to.

Also- (just in case, hopefully it will be non-issue) if something happens with my Dad, or if I need to stay later than expected at the tech conference I'm supposed to attend inn April, Nicki Ahart has agreed to cover for me.

ANOTHER CHANCE!
The first round of orders of 2013-14 BV Cheer shirts has come in and several more people have shown an interest. If YOU'd like to order one too- now's your chance. $17.50 (+$2 if you'd like something printed on the back). Please get your orders to me by this Fri March 7 and checks by either 3/7 or no later than Mon 3/10. Make checks payable to Boyer Valley and put "Cheer Shirt" on the memo line. Thanks.

• Thurs. Feb.20 Boys Districts vs. West Har @ Underwood, Bus Time 4:45pm

I know, there's no school, but still a game. That's how basketball rolls. I'll let you know when & where additional games are if we win that night as soon as I know. I'm guessing Mon or Tues the following week.

• T-Shirts SHOULD be in next week, I'll let you know as soon as I do.

TRACK CONCESSIONS

Reminder that Cheer hosts concessions for track meets. Its our one real major fundraiser. We have three home meets for certain, but I think we may have 5 total this year (I'm checking on that with Ernie). I know that Jennifer & Madison run track and Liberty & Larissa may too. Remember, we need to work with your track coaches to be flexible, work a boy's or Junior High meet if you can't work a girls' meet, or ask an NHS member or your parents to cover for you. If there are 5 meets, I can talk to Coach Kim Wood about sharing with Drill squad like we used to- but it sure would be great to not have to split the profits.

Hopefully these won't create hiccups; but as you know my father's health has been pretty sketchy this year- in the event of a family crisis, I may need to ask a parent, fellow staff member or possibly a cheer alum to step in for me supervising. Also, I just received word today that I'll be part of a team going to a technology conference in Omaha for the school sometime in April. Hopefully neither of these will be a problem, just want to make sure that you &/or your parents are aware ahead of time in case they do. 

TRYOUTS

You have been an incredible squad. If I can get all 8 of you (+maybe Blake as mascot) I will be one really happy coach. You really do an outstanding job and I can't tell you how much I've enjoyed having you this year. But I know that some of you may have something else in mind. Also, there may be a few kids out there who would like a chance to get onto squad, so we have to be fair. Besides, eventually you six Sophomores will all be Seniors, so it may be in our best interest to recruit some people in the classes of 2017 & 2018.

Bottom line- Expect Tryouts to be the week of May 19-23.

Please let me know if you're interested in cheering next year and if you'd prefer to cheer all year, or just FB, or just BB. I'll run announcements/sign-ups/paperwork starting in mid April. 

Cheer Next Week

Hey everybody- we're headed into Districts. There's a lot you need to keep track of, including a few glitches with my schedules.

• Mon 2/10 BB v. COU @ Dun (who wants to bring hospitality? Blake- you comin'?)
  
• Tue 2/11 NO Var BB (9/JV @ MVAO)
  
• Thur 2/13 Girls Districts @ Adair-Casey! (I'll get ya bus time as soon as I can.)
  
• Fri 2/14- NO game Happy Valentine's Day (most years we have a game on V-Day)

My wife has Parent/Teacher Conferences TUE & THR at MVAO. Our daughters have Dance TUE & THR, Piano MON, & our oldest daughter has an appointment in Sioux City and my Father-in-law is having surgery on MON... So, I probably won't make it to Monday's game, but I think you can handle it. You did last night. Lisa is always there.

FYI, in case you were unaware, Larissa's M.D. has told her that she's out for the remainder of the season.

CHEER THIS WEEK- Please read!

• TUES Jan 14 @Elk Horn  Bustime 4:15pm
• THRS Jan 16 Home Vs. ArWeVa- no rally, but we need hospitality (I know, they almost never have games on Thursdays, but we do, so please plan on it)
• FRI- Jan 17 @Anita  Yeah, that is far, so Bustime is 3:45pm
• MASCOT- maybe Skye wasn't so serious, I haven't heard from her, but Liberty may try taking on Cujo since the Slipper cut back her hours after she'd quit cheer because she thought she'd have to work all season. Wish her luck
• TEE-SHIRTS- I've only got orders and money from maybe 3 of you. If you want 'em you got to get it in to me so that I can order them. Please?! I have more forms (or can always print them) if you need new ones. Can we say Tues Jan 21 is the absolute cut-off. If you don't have them to me by then, then I guess only the 3 people will have shirts ordered for them. Sorry.

YIKES! There's a game tonight!!!

Apparently there's a home JV/Var Boy's game tonight. Sounds like it was rescheduled Friday. I don't remember Mr. Kline letting me know. Sorry about the short notice. If you can come, great, if you can't that's okay.

I will not be here because 2 of my 3 girls have a concert at COU tonight. 

Gotta say, after last Friday night, I'm reeeally nervous about leaving you unsupervised. Please prove to me that you can get along- no fighting, no arguing, not dividing into factions, no talking about each other and seething or complaining. Please be positive, cooperative, responsible, respectful, & representing Boyer Valley the best you can.

CHEER this week

• MON- Sorry,  no practice, I have to run paperwork in to Dr.Crabb's office in Denison, sorry
• TUE- AWAY @ Glidden-Ralston. BUS LEAVES at 4:00pm, so be in the North hallway by the gym by 3:55pm. Believe me, they will leave without you if you're not there.
• WED- Please get me your t-shirt orders with payments by the end of the day so I can submit the order to Something Unique.
• THR- I know we can't get all 8 together, I doubt we could get 6 together. I'll be happy to practice with 4, but I'm not sure its worth it to practice with just 2 or 3. We'll decide together Tuesday night if we need to practice Thursday.
• FRI- HOME GAME, we need hospitality. Sorry, between the early out and all the finals, Mr. Straight told me he'd just assume wait till next month and not have a pep rally. Be that as it may, please show your pride by wearing your unniforms at school. Thank you. REMEMBER TO TAKE YOUR STOCKINGS HOME. Merry Christmas!

Fri "Bus Time"

Ernie let me know today that for tomorrow night's Coon Rapids game we'll take a separate van like during football. I'd just assume leave around 4:20 and go straight there- but if enough of you want to stop and eat on the way, we can leave at 3:45. Let me know your preference ASAP. Thanks.

EXTRA UNIFORM COMPONENTS

Hey everyone- I almost forgot to remind you about this.

Please check to see if ANY of you who have more than one skirt, warm-up, shell or whatever. Keep the one that you were originally issued, it should be what fits best, and please return any extras which you've borrowed. 

This isn't just about Jade still needing her skirt that Mali has, a number of you have doubles or extras. I need to keep all of our inventory here in my room. We don't want any of them to get lost.

Please return them to me this Fri or as soon as possible.

No pep rally this day because it's not a home game, but please DO wear your uniforms to school (even if you aren't cheering that night).
