CORRECTION: Track Concessions Thurs 4/23

Sorry about that last email. Mrs. Cogdill caught that I was getting a week ahead of myself.

Remember workers, if you need to trade, you can ask your parents, NHS members, or other cheer or drill members, but please let Mr. Mallory know about the arrangements you make as soon as possible.

But Jen Houston DID mention to me that she might be working for someone, but I don't remember who for, I think it might have been for Kristen?? We need everyone to work because I need to also take MS track pictures for yearbook. I start all the  track meets, and originally I work 2 and 1/2 and Mrs.Cogdill would work 2 1/2 but she can't make it this week, so I will work this this whole one and she will work the next two. So I really need a full crew. Thanks for your help everyone.

Phinally got out photo shoot!

I took something in the neighborhood of 360 pictures this afternoon of the 2008-09 Basketball squad. That's probably because I was really "off my game" and at least 120 of them turned out to be lousy. Gimme a week or two and I'll weed out the bad ones, then weed out the best ones, then edit and adjust those best ones and burn CDs for you and upload a few to Facebook. But for now, here's one that I tripped-out a little in Photoshop for you. Wish I remembered what was so funny.

Re: cheer camp

Actually, the UCA Camp June 19-20 is at West Harrison High School. You can find out more about it from

Coach Gina Felton at gfelton-at-w-harrison.k12.ia.us
or Lee Trudell at ltrudell-at-uca.com

I am planning on sending at least 6 girls to it. It is an outstanding camp. Gina just told me tonight, that they're adding a one day stunting-only camp on Sunday June 21. If I can get enough girls to do it, I know it would be worth it.

I wrote a story on last summer's camp for the Mapleton PRESS. You can read it at http://cheercoach.blogspot.com/2008/06/uca-camp-at-west-harrison-jun-20-21.html

Hope to see you there this year!

Mr. Mallory,
I am the varsity cheer coach at Clarke-Osceola and my girls saw that there is a 2 day camp at your school in June. Is it possible that we can attend or is it a private one? Please let me know the details.
Thanks,
Jaci Baumfalk

BRRRRRR-

Here are some girls I am especially fond of. 4 of these 5 ladies have cheered since junior high and I really think of them each as a goddaughter. Hope their parents and real godparents don't mind. That's Cammey running hurdles above.

Kensie and Cammey had to run in the first home track meet. Can you tell it was cold? Cammey came in and worked concessions after she was done. She does have an awesome work ethic, but I suspect that she wanted to warm up a little.
Christine is working all the track meets to fill in where other people can't (and to get some service hours for NHS) She's also Yearbook Editor. Think she's important to me? You should see what a beautiful painter she's becoming too- without having taken Drawing first!
Sasha is such a steady Eddy. And (at least as far as I ever see) mellow and easy going too. If Christine is Rabbit and Kensie is Tigger, then Sasha is probably Pooh. And school spirit? Her blood runs purple. Gettin to be a pretty good photogrpaher too.
Rena came back to visit from Buena Vista. We tried to talk her into helping at the concession stand, but she's paid her dues. Her Junior & Senior years, she probably worked concessions more than all her classmates combined, when she didn't have to cheer, that is. This Spring she's trying out for her college's squad. Good luck!
